Engima - Mea Culpa part II album

I picked this album up yesterday and thought I'd write a review. I did a quick search on Discgogs and while the album was listed, I couldn't find my exact copy. The copy I have has two songs (versions) on each side and is a Virgin Records 1990 copyright.

The four songs (versions) are:

A1 Mea Culpa Part II (Fading Shades Mix)
A2 Mea Culpa Part II (Catholic Version)

B1 Mea Culpa Part II (Orthodox Version)
B2 Mea Culpa Part II (LP Version)

Mea Culpa Part II (Catholic Version)

Enigma is a German new age musical project formed in 1990 by Michael Cretu, David Fairstein and Frank Peterson. Michael Cretu was the driving force for the project and music. He was born in Romania, but based his recording studio A.R.T. Studios in Ibiza, Spain, from the early 1990s until May 2009, where he has recorded all of Enigma's studio releases.

Eivissa, Cala Salada, at north of Sant Antoni de Portmany on the western coast of the island of Ibiza, Spain.

Cretu is both the composer and the producer of the project. His former wife, pop singer Sandra, often provided vocals on Enigma tracks. Jens Gad co-arranged and played guitar on three of the Enigma albums.

Mea Culpa is song for on Enigma's hugely successful MCMXC a.D. album. MCMXC a.D. is the Roman Numerals for 1990, the year of the album's release, followed by Anno Domini. This album is a single release from that album. Mea Culpa Part II reached the top ten in Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland as well as #7 on the American dance chart.

MCMXC a.D. is considered a landmark and innovative New-age album. It involves sampling and is said to be one of the first albums recorded on a hard disk drive. The chants used on "Sadeness" and "Mea Culpa" were mostly taken from Paschale Mysterium (1976) by the German choir Capella Antiqua München with conductor Konrad Ruhland, specifically from the track "Procedamus in pace! (Antiphon)".

Mea Culpa translates to is a Latin phrase that means "through my fault" or "I'm guilty" and is an acknowledgement of having done wrong.

It's definitely a classic new age album to have.
